Carsen Edwards "looking like a lottery pick", has a shot at being the steal of the draft
It’s no way in Hell Carsen Edwards should have went in the second round. Looking like a Lottery Pick to me. GMs must have a different set of eyes then the rest of us lol!— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) July 13, 2019
Perk was on the Celtics 2004 Summer League squad that included All Jefferson, Tony Allen, Delonte West and Marcus Banks. Jefferson averaged 18 points per game that summer, and Carsen just topped that in five games, averaging 19.4 PPG on 48% from the field and 47% from 3-point land.
Edwards just looks comfortable and confident out there on the floor. He came to us via a trade with Philadelphia (yes, another one), with Danny Ainge trading the 20th pick, which turned out to be Matisse Thybulle, to Philly for the #24 and #33 picks. Thybulle had a decent Summer League, averaging 11.6 PPG on 43% shooting, in addition to 3.8 RPG, but knowing it is too early to make predictions, Edwards could end up being the steal of the draft taken at #33 in the second round. Please make note that Carsen's photo at the top is also courtesy of Philly.
