Boston Celtics Jay Team embracing the Dirk-one-legged-fadeaway shot

The Boston Celtics Jay Team of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are adding Dirk Nowitzki's one-legged, fadeaway shot to their offensive arsenal. Tatum used it quite a bit last season, but it may be new for Brown. Dirk invented the offensive move, and he used it often. It has been employed by stars such as Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, and we may be seeing more of it this season from Jaylen and Jayson.

The biggest advantage of the move it its ability to create space from the defender and make the shot almost impossible to block. During the Dallas Maverick's 2010-11 Championship season, Nowitzki used his 7-foot height and his patented shot to defeat the Miami Heat in the Finals and take the Title. No Miami defender could stop Dirk, and he averaged 26 points per game in the series.

Brown and Tatum can't match Dirk in length, but they seem to be destined to be potent offensive weapons for the Boston Celtics. When Jaylen stops thinking about every move and lets his instincts take over, his quick first step and high-level athleticism should get him a lot of points. Jayson seems to be able to get a decent shot off under almost any circumstance, but for both Jay Team members, the addition of Nowitzki's innovative move will be a great addition to their repertoire. The Celtics take on the Australian Boomers again tonight, so look for that space-creating innovation a time or two.
