Jay Team shines - Walker recovers stroke - in 112-106 Celtics win over Toronto Raptors
This was Team Ball all the way. Kemba Walker, trying to shed his poor shooting night in Boston's loss versus the 76'ers, missed his first five shots in this contest - but recovered to score 11 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter. The Guys in Green seem to like each other this season (per NBA's Kyle Hightower):
Walker said support from his teammates helped him shake off a 0-for-5 start from the field just two days removed from his 4 for 18 performance in Boston's season-opening loss to Philadelphia.
''That's what I needed,'' Walker said. ''The things that they said to me are the things that I needed to hear. They seen my face, kind of down at times. They just kept encouraging me.''
Jaylen Brown basically apologized to Kemba Walker after taking a quick shot during Kemba’s hot streak: “He ain’t gotta apologize,” Walker said.— Jay King (@ByJayKing) October 26, 2019
“He took a great shot. He just missed. I didn’t want him to apologize. I wanted to keep my teammate confident.”

Daniel Theis got the start at center, but Rob Williams played as many minutes (14), notching six points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, also adding six boards, two steals and one block. Jaylen is starting to earn his new contract money, and his pairing with Tatum worked well in the game. The 25-points-each is great, but it's the nine rebounds and four assists that they each garnered that gets my attention. They shared team-high-rebounds (9) and assists (4 - Grant Williams with four also), and this shows their growth as complete players
Gordon Hayward had a decent outing, with 15 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Rookie Grant Williams experienced some shooting woes (2-of-9 FG, 0-of-3 on 3s) but made up for it with seven rebounds, four assists and one steal. G-Will got to play some center against the Raps, and even at 6'6", he did well. We will seem more of him at the five in future games.
The Celtics, now 1-1 for the season, take on the Knicks on Saturday. Look for more articles later today from the win over Toronto.
