Please Danny - Do not sign JAYLEN BROWN to an extention!!!

I'm begging you Danny.  Don't do it.  Not yet.  Please just let the season play out and then we can go from there.

I am already hearing all kinds of talk about the "talent" we have on the Celtics this year and people asking how there will be enough minutes for everyone to play.  Carsen Edwards needs to be on the court.  Marcus Smart is the 6th man.  Enes Kanter has to play.  Robert and Grant Williams can contribute so they gotta get some run somehow.  "We have so much talent."  Oh my God.  Please help me.  People said the exact same crap last year.  I look back at last year's squad and I say "where was all the talent?"  Seriously people - We weren't that good.  We didn't underachieve.  We just were not that good.  We had nobody who could rebound.  Our toughness was seriously lacking.  Kyrie's offense was a joke most nights.  Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward almost never beat their man off the dribble to get to the basket and finish.  I could go on and on.  We lost four in a row to Milwaukee for a reason, and the reason was not because we "underachieved".

Last season was a failure because Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown did not step up.  They got worse from the year before.  Note: This does not mean they underachieved.  It just means they played worse.  Yet now we have people in the media rushing to resign Jaylen Brown to a $100+ million long term deal because he had a few good looking preseason games?

PLEASE keep in mind that Jaylen was on the US team this summer that finished 7th in the FIBA World Cup.  You may ask: The US finished in 7th place in the world in basketball?  Yes!  And Jaylen Brown was a major contributor!  Please give me a break with all the accolades people are giving him.  He needs to stay hungry.  And he needs to earn his money.

Danny, if you pay Jaylen now, you will set the precedent that talent and athletic ability and "potential" are good enough for Celtics fans.  I am here to tell you that IT ISN'T!  We want wins.  Keep Jaylen hungry and pushing and striving to be his best.  And let's see how he does.

Truth be told, I have liked Jaylen since we drafted him.  But last year, he sucked.  And I don't want to hear any arguments.  I watched him play every night and he sucked.  He was competitive in the playoffs - yes.  But he did not play like a guy that you build around and win an NBA championship.  Can he get to that level?  I hope so.  But for me, he is going to have to play like it before I jump on that bandwagon and back up the Brinks truck for him.  I had enough "potential" last year to last a lifetime.  This Celtics team needs to prove it to me.
