Kemba Walker poured in a team-high 25 points, and the Jay Team combined for 45 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Jayson Tatum was 9-of-20 from the field, coming back from his horrendous 1-of-18 outing versus the Mavericks on Monday. But the high point of the night may have been supplied by rookie Carsen Edwards who came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points on 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 on 3-pointers. Carsen also managed four rebounds and three assists, showing that he could very well become a complete player in this League.
Both Rob Williams and Daniel Theis were out of action last night with injuries, but we saw both Enes Kanter and Vincent Poirier in action at the center position. With Gordon Hayward out for roughly six weeks following hand surgery, it is starting to look like Edwards could play a significant role off the bench for Boston. With that in mind, take this opportunity to take a quick look at the @DHobeika video of Edwards' highlights below. It is delightful.
Good day Weird Celtics Twitter! In preparation for NBA opening night, I made a Carsen Edwards tribute video entitled "Hungry Thighs."
