Jaylen Brown ignites his team to a 108-95 win over Denver Nuggets

Jayson Tatum was the Celtics top scorer with 26 points in their 108-95 victory over the Denver Nuggets last night, but it was Jaylen Brown that ignited a surge in the first period. Jaylen had racked up nine points on three 3-pointers by the 7:27 mark of the first quarter and took down his fourth rebound five minutes later. Brown hit once again on a finger-roll layup to end the period with 11 points.

The Jays are emerging as a potent pairing, and it is looking more likely that both will be in the serious All-Star conversation this season. They combined for 47 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and only two turnovers. I was fortunate to be at the game, and the excitement was through the roof.

Jaylen and Jayson were on fire last night, and we can expect a lot more of it. Brown referred to the duo as "fire and ice". Since he didn't specify who is "fire" and who is "ice", I dub Brown as the former and Tatum as the latter. That may change.
