Per Woj, Rockets entertaining offers for center, Clint Capela
As trade deadline looms on Thursday, Houston is engaged with several Eastern Conference teams -- including Atlanta -- on C Clint Capela, league sources tell ESPN. There are a few multi-team trade scenarios in play.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) February 3, 2020
His salary would give the Boston a reasonable chance to match dollars without giving up a member of their core. This season, Clint is averaging 13.9 PPG, 9.7 RPG and 1.5 BPG. The chance of such a trade happening seems unlikely, but be assured that Danny Ainge is, at least, giving the idea some consideration. ESPN's Trade Machine indicates that a deal sending Enes Kanter, Vincent Poirier and Romeo Langford to the Rockets for Capela is successful.
There is little doubt that the addition of the Rockets big man to Boston's roster would bolster their chances in the post-season. Capela is an active defender, but admittedly lacks a 3-point shot and is a poor free throw shooter at 52.9%. But at 25 years of age and a bargain of a salary that is locked in for three more seasons should at least get Danny on the phone. Stay with us for pre-deadline updates.
